This makes me feel dog for 'study-freaks' like you! But seriously the marking is RIDICULOUSLY HARSH!
+1. The marking must be so harsh. take chem - using board of studies band descriptors, 38.64% of candidates got a B5 or B6. Meaning approx that 61% or so received a raw mark of less than 55! so, most likely more than half the state FAILED chemistry this year. :chainsaw:

You should realise that in most subjects:
State average ~ 50% raw mark

Indeed lol at chem
Wtf, 55->81??
this yrs paper had alot more tricks than usual (mainly in terms of calculation) and in general a lot harder calculations , and there were topics that usually have like 10 marks minium every year and they were completely forgotten this yr, the paper threw everyone off, lol my chem exam mark was 84, so what was my raw!

Whats with english and business, there are no part marks!

what so they marked the english essay like 10 times, how do you get .45?
I think it's because English Advanced comprises of Paper 1 (45 marks) and Paper 2 (60 marks). That's a total of 105 marks. However, the mark for Paper 1 out of /45 is later changed to /40 to make the subject out of /100. So that could have lead to the .45 mark.

For example, someone gets 40/45 for Paper 1 and 40/60 for Paper 2.

40/45 converts to 35.55/40. So the final raw mark is 75.55.

There's also optional question scaling in all exams with option topics. And in English they have common paper equating and a few other strange things as well. So it's quite possible to end up with really weird marks - one of my English numbers was 61.51.
