My Computer just died (1 Viewer)

not completely...only in the sense that it doesn't work...


My screensaver was telling me that it couldn't find a single image in a folder of 3000 when I came back into the room when I booted it up, this didn't worry as I assumed a software fault etc had developed.

I also noticed that the speaker were clicking at me.

I then discovered that my music player was ripping music at about 1/100th its normal rate, still no problem, just the write protection on the disk or maybe a scratch..tried another disk, same problem...repeated for about 5 albums.

Ok, right click on "my computer", no response for about 10 minutes...ok so things are running slowly, I'll try a defrag...no difference


Anyway, the computer is running really slowly with no apparent internal cause though I think it got damaged when my mother accidently ripped the power cord out of the wall when she decided to move the powerboard it runs off. Some features still run as fast as before (eg, list population in media player)

I'm running XP system pack 1 if this helps solve the problem. (that computer is not connected to the internet and has had no new software or files in over 6 months so no viruses)

The computer is soon to be replaced so a temparary fix will suffice!

Reformat. Best method. Everything will be saved (If you do it correctly)

Check connections of hardware inside the computer case.

Mum knocked the computer once, and the GPU disconected itself causing the computer to go into massive shock lol.

i seem to have a problem with my laptop as well. it has crashed on me everyday now for the past 4 days. virus protection has detected no virus. daily defragment has done nothing. did a scan on "problems" came up with over 240. could only fix 15 of them == my flash player is FUCKED. everytime i play poker on fb... it always seems to come up with an error at least twice a day. so it closes my net window == ive re-downloaded flash. still hasnt changed.
also. it takes 5 fucking minutes for my computer to fucking turn on and load fully. AND. how the fuck can i cool down this mutherfucker of a laptop

Copy all your pics/videos/etc to a external, put the system disk in, reformat,reinstall OS, copy back or your valuables.,???. Profit for you.

fuck. yeah i dont have an external device. and im too scared to wreck my comp. i still have an attatchement to my computer i freak out wenever something happens to it

my laptop is also really slow to load once u turn it on, and has the shittest battery life ever (about 1 hour on "power saver" mode)
its also just slow in general

its 2 years old, and theres only 27.5gb left of memory (out of 140gb)
anybody know whats wrong with it?
