okay so, i'm planning on doing mining engineering at university.
Anyway, when i picked my subjects i thought i just needed 2 unit maths, but apparently 3 unit is recommended, is this a necessity or just a recommendation. Im doing physics, geography and ipt which kinda correspond.
Anyone know if this will damage my chances of getting the course i want.
BTW i'm not too great at maths but i can cope with 2 unit OK, but 3 unit would be struggle i think.

Any help greatly appreciated

3U maths is not essential, but they expect u know everything in 3U maths when u start the course. i got a friend in a similar situation as u, hes very shitty in maths, he cant even simplify root 20 and hes not doing 3U maths, but he wants to do enginnering at uni.

if mining engineering is the pathway u wants to take, u can still see whether u could go up to 3U for ur school, if not, and u are determined u cant learn the theory off the textbook, u are doing $200~ bridging course, which cram 2 years of senior school to, couples of weeks.

Some uni's only expect 2unit. But I'd do a bridging course before uni begins. Just make sure you really work on maths, try to become better as the year goes along, otherwise you probably won't like engineering.

In simple terms: They design stuff and plan out stuff to be made/built.

e.g. A civil engineer designs a bridge so its stable, will last through a small earth quake etc...
