Hello,

I am currently studying at Wollongong University.
I study European Languages and Communicating in a Foreign Language.
For a research assignment I need to have Japanese translations of English sentences to get data for this assignment. If you can write in Japanese, with English characters, please can you translate these sentences for me.
Thank you so much for your time and participation in assignment.

Do you require this in romaji? As I completed Japanese for a few years at school and may be able to help when I have a free moment. When is this due as I could probably take a look over the next couple of days for you.

I am sorry If I don't get the right particles as only completed up until year 10 Japanese. I wanted to do continuers, although never had the chance though. However; I am certain that someone could correct me on the particles if I post up what I think in romaji.

Yep, I've learnt those at school, it just the fact that we didn't learn those sentence structure, translate them and put them into sentences. :spzz:

But that's very nice of you helping others out!! :)

Ok, I think I have it correct with the verbs and structuring. If someone could help fill in the ...... with the appropriate joining words, I think that we have this pretty much figured out.

1. The Boy roasted the fish that he caught.
Okoto no ro-suto, ..... ga suwatta sakana.

2. The Girl roasted the fish that she caught.
Onna no ko no ro-suto, ...... ga suwatta sakana.

3. The Cat roasted the fish that it caught.
Neko no ro-suto ko re hasawatta sakana.

4. The Boy ate the fish that he caught.
Okoto wa suwatta sakana o tabetta.

5. The Boy touched the fish that he caught.
Okoto wa suwatta sakana ni ..... re ta.

6. The Boy roasted the snake that he caught.
Okoto wa, ...... ga kya shichi hebi ro-suto.

7. The Boy roasted the duck that he caught.
Okoto no ro-suto, ..... kya shichi ahiru.

8. The Boy was roasting the fish that he caught.
Okoto wa ......., ....... ga suwatta sakana datta.

9. The Boy wanted to roast the fish that he caught.
Okoto wa ro-suto shitashi .... ga suwatta sakana.

10. The Boy roasted the fish that he found.
Okoto ro-suto ...... ga ....... shita sakana desu.

11. The boy roasted the fish that he discovered.
Okoto no ro-suto, ..... ga ..... sareta sakana desu.

You probably should learn them. As even though I didn't get the chance to do continuers at my school, my teacher went through quite a bit of Kanji at the end of year 10.

Thank you, it's quite easy to pick some things up based upon the sounds and the way that the symbols look. I couldn't do continuers as we needed at least a class of 10 students. However, we only ended up getting about 4 students that showed interest + later on the Japanese teacher that had been there since like the school first started, retired. :(

I felt sorry for you that you can't do Japanese Continuers, but do you guys need at least 10 students? We only have 7 in our class. I think doing a Japanese course in HSC is not the only way that you can learn Japanese!! There's heaps of opportunities!!

You can go overseas and study the language/ University (or maybe TAFE??)
I agree that the characters are quite easy to pick up :D cuz I'm chinese (LOL)

So are you planning to learn Japanese in depth in the future?

Yeah, for some reason we needed 10 for it to run.. weird!!

lol, I thought that you may have asian origins as the user name is quite unique. I am still going to continue learning it; as I find it quite enjoyable :). Would actually love to travel to Japan one day; especially when the cherry blossoms are out in season. Later on I may even consider doing a course in LOTE (Japanese) as a module when I go to do a course in primary teaching at uni.
