give it a re-start, turn it on in safe mode (with netowkring), download spyware doctor and do a scan, and delete any junk that it shows up with.

Also, i'm assuming you know how to activate it.
Just do this.

Doubt spyware affects your performance. Seriously, they say "Improve your computer speed by 200%" to get ads on their website(since more visitors), therefore money.

I've been saved by that software many times, the only thing is you have to buy it to remove it, but i'm sure you can get around that.

DO the scan atleast.

just turn the internet off, then disable McAfee, then do the scan with Spyware Doctor, and get norton, works better than McAfee imo, they got the free beta available til about september, no need to pay.

are you normal?

Ok right click my computer and select 'properties' and look at the part that says 'computer' and see if it says the amount of RAM you had when you bought it?

It isn't rare to find RAM has fallen out of its slot on a laptop.
