State ranks for maths 'might' be a bit more competitive than usual this year. Even though our 3u trial was easier than usual this year, 76/84 was only ranked 43/166. Same for 4u. 108/120 was only around 15/116 (I think)
Who wrote the papers?

What the fuck - 108/120 at SBHS is only 15th? In my year, I think I barely scraped 100, and I was top 3.

You heard wrong if you heard there's some 'screwed up' reason behind everyone doing well. This years maths cohort is genuinely above average. Of the 80 accelerated 2 units, only one didn't get a band 6 last year. And this is when it won't even count towards our atars.

Like I said, easy papers, good cohort. Boros wrote 3u and 'external examiner' wrote 4u. That means choy. I'm not 100% sure about the 4u, but my 95/120 was ranked 39th.

2009. But 100 was more of a guestimate - give me 5 minutes, I'll check what I got. :) [Have to trawl through my Yr 12 folder]

Boros is generally easy. I'm surprised Choy's paper was easy, though.

Wow, I'm good (at guessing what I got). I got 100.5.

Marks for each question were:
1. 14.5
2. 10 (what the fuck difficult question 2 :( )
3. 15
4. 15
5. 15
6. 14 (I was meant to get 13, but my teacher miscounted, and I stayed quiet....)
7. 11
8. 6

Well, for the purposes of those who want to attempt the paper and know where they stand, I'll just stipulate that 100.5/120 resulted in 3rd. How about that?

just wondering what ATAR you would expect someone to get if they only get about 50-60/120 (i.e. less than 50%) in the mx2 trials?
