....but she lied to the people..she openly lied! changed her view about the carbon tax about 2 weeks after she was elected to the role of pm because she had a 'change of heart'...
same thing happened with Howard...stating that under his government there would never be a GST...well he lied too lol.
our whole government is based on feeding the australian people false promises.
This country needs a good, healthy purge of all of the professional liars in power. It amazes that the Australian people didn't go ape after her little change of heart..

National Debt, which Howard and Costello campaigned on with their debt truck in 1995/1996, "$10,000 for every man, woman and child" "The Beazley blackhole" etc, National debt tripled under the Howard government.

Which is a legitimate position to hold but this crap about her reneging on a promise is just lazy and misleading.
I think its funny that she lied straight up, but politicians do it all the time so its irrelevant to the debate, we all fucking knew if she got in they would try this again.

This is a clear income redistribution scheme and that's fine if that's is your policy and this how you announce it.

You know 'helping the Aussie battlers out there by taxing the rich!' would be an acceptable arguement for the government to use

but it's just frustrating that they pretend they are going to save the environment, by implementing a policy that will have no affect of the kind.

K Rudd was the best. That bitch needs to be hanged, drawn, and quartered. And then her thighs and arse need to be sent to Africa and North Korea to end the famines there.

Nope what is it?
people whose parents left them with like inheritance money or property will get taxed on it, and the money will be used for redistribution purposes in order ot create a more equal society..
their basis being the fact that its not fair that some babies are born into the world rich and others poor.

not as strict as they had planned initially...placed a higher cap amount or something now.

Again, in your view as an ardent advocate of the free market it is certainly "a tax" but it is not the "carbon tax" which has been spoken of in recent years as specific type of climate action mechanism. The CPRS was much the same which obviously you considered a tax but in the political vernacular it was not.

One of the libertarians here, can't remember which one, said the Chicago school was to soft, borderline big government etc, that it was Austrian or nothing.
they're alright, except when they talk about monetary policy, because they advocate the existence of central banks controlling the money supply. This of course as you know conflicts with Austrian ideals about how central banks are the prime reason for boom and bust cycles. Also that an extensive growth of government is facilitated by the existence of central banks
