Re: The Official Tennis Thread

Tomic vs. Dolgopolov was a great match. I haven't seen the players slice the ball so much. Fed vs. Tomic will be a shorter match. 4 sets at the most. Tomic is playing mixed doubles on Saturday with Jelena Jankovic (SRB) against Ash Barty (AUS) & Ben Mitchell (AUS). Not much time to rest.
OMG, yes. They just had slicing rallies. :p

Re: The Official Tennis Thread

Currently: Li Na vs. Clijsters. Sounds like the commentators think Li Na will win as Clijsters hasn't has as much practice as before.

Tomic vs. Fed tonight. :D

Re: The Official Tennis Thread

federer has a tricky match tomorrow. not only is he playing del potro but his match is scheduled to start after 2:30 pm. so he will be playing in 34 degree heat.

will also be interesting to see the reception for berdych tomorrow night.

Going for Federer because he's an absolute veteran ^^. Although in my opinion, either Djokovic or Nadal is going to take the cup for the males in the Australian Open.

my money is on an easy nadal win, berdych played well against almagro but he had to win through 3 tiebreakers. 3 sets win for nadal, dont know about del potro 2009 AU QF delpotro got absolutely smashed by federer think the score was 6-3 6-0 6-0, though he did come back to win the US open against fed, would like to see that match.

DAYUMMMMMM THAT WAS A GOOD SET!
Indeed...did not expect Hewitt of all people to be the first to take a set off Djokovic...

funnily enough that was probably some of the best tennis Hewitt has played in a while, still not good enough but it was nice to see him grab a set

Hewitt caused quite the trouble for Djoker in that match, something that even Nadal can't even do properly...
In my opinion, the only person who can stand up to Djoker with somewhat of a chance is Federer at the moment.
Nadal is on a losing streak against Djoker and Murray is yet to release his potential....

Nishikori upsetting Tsonga was also interesting, I hope he does well against Murray!
