I find instrumental music the most effective, as there are no lyrics to distract me. :p One of my friends, she prefers classical music, which I also find good.

I listen to slow (less than 70 beats per minute) classical music while studying (i don't really like it but it helps in my opinion)

but before an exam, I listen to to faster rock/alternative (what I usually listen to)
(It probably won't work for alot of people but works for me)

RNB, some house and classical covers of mainstream songs.

play this to hype you up before your exam and I guarantee you that you will do well. I GUARANTEE IT.

disclaimer: only if you study well beforehand too. Guarantee does not extend to people who just rock up with no preparation.

I have a friend who likes instrumental music for studying as well. Classical is good, but also I've found City and Colour and Jose Gonzalez has worked for me.

What is recommended is classical baroque music. I love Pachelbel's Canon in d :)
Isn't 'classical baroque' a contradiction because classical and baroque music are two very different eras? :p

Thats my fave baroque piece!
