I am planning to do commerce next semester with a double major(accounting/finance) and I understand that u need 144 UOC to finish the degree.
So this means that I will have to do 48UOC of accounting subjects+48UOC of finance subjects+12UOC of General electives+48 UOC of Commerce Core subjects which all add up to 144 UOC.

I have roughly planned out the whole 3 years of subject selection and it turns out to be only 132 UOC with a completion of 22 subjects. This is because 2 subjects(ACCT1501,FINS1613) from each major are from the first year core subjects. Does this mean I have to another 12UOC(I have already counted the 2 general education electives) of commerce electives or do the 2 subjects count towards each major again?

the extra 12 UOC left are free electives that you must choose.

Besides, I do know that ACCT3563/ACCT3573 overlaps with both accounting and finance majors, so there could possibly be more overlapping subjects, meaning more free electives.

A subject can't count twice.

So you'll have more electives.
