I was wondering if there are any leadership opportunities in school other than duke of ed and src prefects.
What about out of school?
Thanks

Involvement in charities and local community organisations is another way to go.

so, say if i were to volunteer as a homework tutor for little kiddies, would that count as leadership?

I would be inclined to say no.

Yes, but I'm not sure how substantial it would be.

i don't think tutoring counts as "leadership" per se

Hence my start a club and lead it (e.g. chess club, scrabble club, computer club, etc)
... or start a committee or something (e.g. formal committee, charity committee, etc).

Or find a competition which requires you to enter as a group or a team (e.g. ABW) and offer to lead it?

Note pretty much all of the above examples are based on what I had back in my day on my applications except for the formal committee (which I didn't care for). Lames yes, but you learn a lot about how to manage a project as well as people.
