If in the last year, approximately 10 students got 90+ in the ATAR for our school, and another 15/20 got 80+, could one assume that if they're in the top 10 ranks of those similar subjects (that the students who got 80+), they'd get greater than 80 in the ATAR. Since the students who received 85-86 were in similar ranks to me, always being in the top 10 of the same subjects I'm doing. Does that give me a reasonable estimation on my ATAR as well? Furthermore, according to teachers our cohort is smarter than the previous years in regards of averages and that we're doing better than they were. So, am I being hopeful or am I correct?
tl;dr:
If students who got 80+ were in slightly lower ranks than me, and those with 85-86 are in the same ranks as me (top 10 for all subjects), does that mean I'm also looking at an 85/86?
