how to improve handwriting legibility by the HSC??? (1 Viewer)

My handwriting has just gone to crap most recently, especially after sitting these trial exams. It has worsened so much compared to how it used to be, to the point where its pretty much illegible and I'm having to scribble to get my words down within the time. When I write at home my writing is usually so much neater, compared to having to sit the exam...and this is inflicting some pretty bad anxiety. When I'm writing I feel like I just can't get the letters together...it's like my hand just won't write. I've written practice essays at home under exam conditions..but should I start writing slow and neatly in order to improve its legibility?

Have you tried writing with a few batteries at the back of your pen?
I did this for 1 month, everyday before my HSC and I ended up being able to write faster and + my hand didn't hurt during exams, which lead to me being able to write neater.

Just a thought, don't have to do it

Also, are you gripping your pen right? You might want to confirm you are because that makes a lot of difference to your writing, and can especially affect how quickly your hand gets tired

I barely know any people who hold their pen correctly
Obviously different grips will affect your speed however the 'correct' way won't necessarily be the best way for everyone.

You may actually need a heavier pen

I think just make notes slowly when you study and try to make them legible and attractive to yourself and you will see a massive improvement in your handwriting over a short period of time.
You don't want to waste time on improving your handwriting right now coz you are close to the exams, what matters the most is the content you put in.

Basically strengthens your writing muscles over time, then you take the batteries off before an exam

It's so hard... I feel pity for people who mark MOD C essays in the HSC...

Personally, I had this problem, I used to lose marks for my handwriting when I could have gotten better marks. So I just learned to write more shorter quality essays so I could write legibly. My marks got much better

I find great resonance to your situation for I myself has experienced it during my HSC, I would recommend perhaps trying to cut down your essay so you can write less while not losing quality, as well as resulting in your hand writing being more legible-you should definitely try to slow down your writing-because teachers won't give marks for things they can't read or comprehend.

So your 'messy/illegible' writing would be what most people wish their handwriting was like
