Can confirm, and a lot of it. Solid mechanics is an integral part of mechanical engineering. For example, deciding the thickness and material of an axle for a car.

Fak. But isn't that mech of solids 2? Only mechanical engo's have to do that?

That's wat I want to be doing :D, not learning about matrices that matlab will do for me in the end

It's covered in MMAN1300, then again in MMAN2400, and again in MMAN3400.
