I went really bad this year and its a result of me procrastinating and occupying myself with unimportant things without realising the effects it will have on me. I generally understand that if I waste time I will fail however while I am wasting time I tend to forget that fact. I put things off for tomorrow which has continued on for weeks, resulting in my failure of the preliminary course. I do not want this to continue next term however I said this in year 10.

What are the chances of me changing next term? What should I do to succeed? I have decided to sacrifice my mobile phone, computer, laptop and other things that distract me but I simply don't know if this is enough. I don't want to fail.. I need the 90+ ATAR to attend a university with people who I connect with.
I will no longer look back and will focus on the future, but I am still not sure that this won't happen again next term.
Have you seen a year 11 student transform in year 12? Can it really be done? Or am I just fooling myself?

your over exaggerating bro chill, year 11 is not symbolic representation of how you will perform in year 12, also don't over sensationalise year 12 as being the year where it all counts or the year that will make or break your life. Everyone has the ability to change the results as well as study habits, you shouldn't sacrifice things like a laptop or phone and assume that it will increase your marks, NO, what will increase your marks is your determination and self belief that you can perform well in all your subjects, i know i sound over dramatic, but its true that you can change your performance in year 12, don't go TAFE, aim for uni. If you know that you will not reach your ATAR aim, i highly suggest you look into flexible entry scheme's or attend a uni with a lower atar cutoff. You have a whole year to transform your self as well as your marks, make it count.

I've said this before and I'll say it again, my brother screwed up year 11 pretty badly (mid-way to near last in all his subjects) but by the end of year 12 he was coming top fifteen in most of his subjects and pulled off an ATAR of 97.75

Anything's possible man, all you got to do is make it happen :D

You need to identify your study problems or you will have problems in TAFE too...

Firstly I'd start off by putting your priorities in the right place... Work first, play later
Secondly , excercise some sort of self control and discipline, it will be an important tool for you in the Future

It can be done, but you need to put your mind to it and change the way you go about things
