what happens if you fail one of your preliminary exams? (1 Viewer)

I'd think it depends. If you've been physically ill and unable to attend school then your typical misadventure/illness form from the school should be able to cover that and you'll resit your exams at a different date. But clearly, if you're intentionally ditching exams because you don't want to attend the school will probably decide one of a couple of things: Either make you redo Year 11, give you 0 on the exams and an N award but you still go to Year 12, or suspend/kick you out (depending on the school rank and how strict and leniant the school is towards the kids).
That could also be said for Year 12 but I'm unsure as to how HSC works in terms of that.
