I dont have any tasks due in regards to this, but I want to get a head start on analysis and study for my related text(s) whenever I find one. The websites that Ive found all have the same stuff but I want to see if theres any additional recommendations.
The main topics that Im interested in might be feminist themes, social upheaval at the hands of hysteria and the role of religion in the unfoldings of the play. Im open to any recommendations though.

I would really appreciate any help!!

mate i don't think the crucible is about feminism. Just because there's a woman antagonist doesn't make it a story about feminism .💀 Maybe you could find some gay books which talk about effeminacy idk

Is the Handmaid's Tale a common choice? I feel like it would be

yeah maybe but that doesn't mean it's a bad choice. maybe ask your class teacher or any english teacher in your school that you know has done hsc marking for advanced english and see if they have any advice.

spending some of the time you waste on having a sook about english being a crap subject on actually working on your english work might help you understand better how as long as you provide reasonable justification you can essentially interpret a text however you please.

and yes the crucible is not about feminism however it aligns with the content of the common module texts and human experiences through the representations of the complex relationships of women through which they betray and malign each other for the reason of self-preservation, either to maintain their integrity as good Christian women or in Abigail and Elizabeth's case to fight for the attention of John Proctor.

in the handmaid's tale there is a link to be made as to how the women within the social structure of gilead also do the same time of thing. serena joy and offred are also fighting for the commander's attention technically and also the women put each other down to prop up their own status in a futile attempt to maintain some level of power and control in a world where they have none

hope the yap is useful to someone even if @nonya2000 doesn't get it

Where in handmaid tail was there hysteria 💀
mass hysteria is defined as "a condition affecting a group of persons, characterized by excitement or anxiety, irrational behavior or beliefs, or inexplicable symptoms of illness" if you actually read the book you'd know this sums up the entire book pretty well
