hey guys, i’m in year 11 and currently doing advanced maths. for the first assessment (algebra + intro to functions) i got 70%, but for the second one (further functions + trig) i got 19/40, which was below average. my teacher has been really pushing me to drop and even said she’s going to call my parents. i just got a tutor and i feel like i could improve if i put in the effort, but i’m also scared it’s going to hurt my atar if i keep struggling.
in my class we started with 19 people and now we’re down to 13 because my teacher is so pushy about getting people to drop — and honestly i feel like i’m her next target. it’s making me doubt myself even more.
right now i just don’t get trig identities and simplifying those expressions — it all feels like a blur and nothing’s clicking. i’m not sure if i should stick it out for one more topic or just drop now before year 12 content starts. has anyone been through this? any advice would mean a lot. thank you
