Looking for some help with the UMAT but don't want to pay the hundreds of dollars for a prep course?
I'm Mana, from MSO, and while I do not condone preparation courses because I think you can get equivalent material for much cheaper, I am offering one on one tuition over skype or in person if...
I think the best idea is to be as comfortable as you possibly can. I am pretty sure that clothing is not an assessment criterion, but it's also pretty standard that everyone there will be wearing something formal and professional.
Perhaps see...
Different universities will have different questions (yes, i know that doesn't really help much.)
UNSW particularly will ask you questions to assess the content of your character; while most universities will test your ethical reasoning as well. Of course the standard questions regarding your...
Live life has to be the best advice ever.
I'm guessing you might want some more specific stuff though. Try living a full life - social, academic, spiritual, physical... you know, that kind of thing. Try and be a well rounded person. Don't be a recluse like I was. It'll help regardless of...
Adelaide does consider your rurality to my knowledge - they give you bonus points to your TER for rurality:

They also give you bonus points for specialist maths and languages and whatnot. So yes, they do consider your...
Ya definitely recommend neither. Bacilli is right in saying it's just nicely packaged material which you could find elsewhere for much much cheaper/free.
I reckon it's a bit hypocritical coming from someone who wanted to get into med but failed.
Anyway - I reckon the hardest bit about first year is getting a nice good study regime and being able to gauge when you have done enough. I guess too much is preferable to too little information.

Marinababy, Dallas did not recommend me any books - in fact, he did not mention any books at the clinic that we could go and use. I found this myself.
I'm also wondering why if the course costs $400 that he cannot supply each of the people doing ICARUS with a copy of Emotional Intelligence...
I believe he actually said he is a rural student. I'd say you have a pretty good chance at most universities through their access schemes for rural students. You are definitely able to get into Adelaide with 90+ being a rural student (I know of a couple with 87).
... and still, Icarus College continues to advertise VCM, and still Icarus College continues to claim that 8/10 medical students did their course.
Sure, I'm all for stamping out MedEntry's lies, that's good. I'm also for stamping out Icarus's, just as much.
As does advertising overpriced materials that are equivalent to something that can be found in a bookstore...
I do not personally hate Dallas. He was actually quite a friendly person, though some of my friends have told me they did not like the experience.
I was damn bored in that clinic...
