  • Yes i know you don't like physics. Remember that teacher you told me about (what was his name?): "sir whats that curve thing?" "thats sine" 'What is it?" "Its this thing". And they were mostly general maths students.
Thats pretty much the plan if I can't get a train that goes straight through to macarthur.
Ill just wear dark sunnies so no one thinks im looking at them. Pretty sure I'm going the Physics + maths route, so no MBLG really needed. I like biology, so I thought id like biochem/molecular bio, and dad does all this nutritional stuff in that field now, but when I read/hear about this stuff in detail it sounds terribad. I assume that you got off/on at red fern?
If i hate something, ill just change the second semester units later in the year.
Pretty much set (not gonna change my mind again) on:
    Semester 1:
    PHYS1001
BIOL1001/1003 (not entirely sure which would be better, though I suppose BIOL1001 as its like a rehash of HSC bio?)
    CHEM1001
    MATH1001
    MATH1002

    and Semester 2:
    PHYS1003
    CHEM1002
    PHYS1500
    MATH1003
    MATH1005

Been reading into more detail about MBLG1001 and biochem stuff...no way. Sounds like crap.
And late finishes wont be that bad.....I just hope theres lots of people on the train.
Still, it sounds alot more interesting. Besides I have enormous trouble with computers that arent macs (lol), I literally havent touched windows in about 4 years. Thanks anyway :)
So basically PHYS1500 would give me no advantage (in terms of knowledge) in astrophysics, even though its just a 'filler' subject?
But how would it benefit me? I mean, if I was going to ultimately end up in astrophysics/astronomy, would I be better doing COSC1003 or PHYS1500?
So I assume it was because your a GWSer that you got in with your GPA or simply because that how UWS ranks applicants?

5.7GPA threshold I presume? But really it's UMAT and Interview?
What a ownage S1 score! The one I need to aim to improve! Not bad GPA/WAM, ATAR:86.45 so UNSW is out of the picture immediately; I'll be aiming for UWS :)
Thanks so much, the best of luck of you :)
Hello, long time lurker just recently been posting and have seen you around for a while first of all congrats on your UWS med. I know how much you really wanted to get in (I understand) and I have question to ask (only one I hope); what were your UMAT section scores/%ile/Overall, I just want to see what it's like since I'll be applying as non-standard.

    Thanks!
    No worries man,
I heard the USW interview is relatively more difficult. Is that true? Did you have to prepare or anything?
I am aiming for UNSW, if I don't get in then I will probably do UWS :)
So lol my family talked me out of Geology, which I never did in HSC anyway. "Don't work for the mining companies", but I have to agree with them as i could never work with one of them , but there isnt much work in that field otherwise. So my uncle is kinda saying I should do physics, which I love, but HSC physics was a joke (too much english not enough maths). So I come to my point: Did you do first year physics? what was it like?
