I was under the impression that this was the case for marking in HSC Chemistry (well so my teacher told me on numerous occasions last year), namely that you would lose marks for incorrect chemistry or contradictions even if they were unnecessary e.g. if you added in an extra unnecessary equation...
Yes. That is correct but they have this elite athletes and performers scheme which I'm pretty certain can be used for law (since I had a few friends get into UNSW law under this scheme).
Here's the information link:

And...
Aside from English (Advanced) there are no prerequisites for law. However to my knowledge most universities will make you combine it with another degree if you are doing undergrad and so you will need to check out prerequisites/recommended knowledge for that second degree.
ATAR with law is...
I do Comm/Law at USyd and I think that Commerce at UNSW is better. However I chose USyd because I think that Law at USyd is better (so if you intend to combine Commerce with anything also consider which university is better for your second degree) and because they offered me a scholarship...
The study of a language is a continuous process and naturally all that you learnt in terms of the language itself in Year 11 will be relevant for your HSC.
I am not sure about Japanese but I know that for German for the HSC there were specific topics that we were given to focus on for speaking...
I'm currently doing Comm/Law at USyd and if you want to do Comm personally I'd recommend that you keep the maths unless you really hate it/think that you'll do incredibly badly in it.

To calculate your overall HSC mark, BOS uses a combination of your external (written exam mark) and your internal (school assessment mark) which are averaged out to create your overall mark.
Your external mark is what you...
Jade is one of the hardest working people I've known in my 6 years at North Sydney Girls. She is incredibly intelligent, diligent and motivated and will undoubtedly do all she can to aid in preparing you for the HSC. Jade not only has an almost endless supply of resources but she’s also very...
A couple of my friends got Medicine and Dentistry offers at UQ today so it seems that QTAC did open early. However it could never hurt to wait an extra day I suppose. Good luck.
NSW ATAR: 99.85
SAM: 99.75

UMAX: 99.75
I think I'm still recovering from the shock. Completely ecstatic! Didn't expect it to be as high as it was. Combined Law here I come.
