    URGENT: Help!!!

This is a calculation question, most likely made up by the author and not from experimental evidence, so no, does not need to be 14-15% for this type of question. That said, 15% is a maximum, there is no minimum.

    1st Hand Investigation Help

Any good HSC Physics textbook will help you - this IS a part of teh HSC Physics syllabus.

    Liquids in Equilibrium Constants?

Yes, this is quite intuitive - we are somewhat measureing concentration or pressure - Liquids and Solids have no 'concentration" since they are pure, but aq and g substances do, since a gas is a part of other gases in the room, while in aq state, the ubstance is dissolve in water, and so has...

    BoS red potentials WRONG ?

Not sure why they are different - but yes, most likely some experimental procedure might be different, eg. use of a diferent isotope of the element. Also note that not long ago 'standard pressure' meant 1 atmosphere, or 101.3 kPa, now 'standard pressure' is 100kPa, so some older textbooks would...

is heating water endothermic or exothermic?

Your formula is indeed wrong - There should NOT be a minus sign. Hence when the temperature decreases, i.e. the change in temperature is negative, then your answer will be negative, indicating an exothermic reaction, since heat has been liberated.

    URGENT: Help!!!

Your final answers seem correct, just a couple of notes: - Your notation is a little dodgy, 'ethanol' should be 'moles of ethanol', and there shouldn't be equality at your 6th equal sign, since from here on you are calculating 'mass of ethanol'. - To work out the ethanol content, i'm not...

3 Unit Maths HSC Exam Revision

[Although i haven't answered any question, i thought i might add a question before i forget. It is technically MX1, but i'd classify it as 'Harder MX1' under MX2. It is a challenging question. Work at it and have a go!] A stone is thrown so that it will hit a bird at the top of a pole...

    2010 HSC Physics Revising Marathon

It's up to you (Hsc Physics '10 Students) to keep this thread going!

    Confused about Holes :S..

Well you're quite right, in that it is the electrons doing the work when we refer to a "hole current". The reason we say it is a hole current, is because if we simply focus on what's going on in the big picture, the hole seems to be moving, and not the electron [however, as you mentioned, yes it...

    2010 HSC Chemistry Revising Marathon

Sulfur forms acidic oxides. Good work on the equations, but you've mixed them around! (1) is demonstrating AL2O3 exhibiting basic properties because it is neutralising an acid. (2) is demonstrating AL2O3 exhibiting acidic properties because it is neutralising a base. Make sure...

    2010 HSC Physics Revising Marathon

To all '10 HSC Physics students, With your trial examinations fast approaching, i thought it would be a good idea to start a thread where you can help each other learn. Rules: The OP posts a question, first person to get it correct asks the next question, and so on. Note: try to give a...

27/5/10 ACCG200 lecture's dispute? [full class cancelled, argument, security called]

Re: Thursday 27/5/2010 ACCG200 lecture's dispute? Yeh, apparently someone put a virus onto the lectern computers thats spread throughout the uni. With regards to overfilling lectures and general experience with some units, i guess it depends on the Department.

how to easily remember the order of EM waves in decreasing energy.

I just made up a (rather Russian-sounding) word with the first letter of each: GXUVIMR (I pronounce it something like 'gazoovimirr')
  18. Pwnage101

Is not intensity affected by photon energy?

Yes, generally 'intensity' is the number of photons per area (in HSC Physics anyway).
  19. Pwnage101

    half equations

The spectator ions do not change at all. All other species change somehow.
  20. Pwnage101

    half equations

Write out a full ionic equation, and the speciies which is the same on both sides of the equation is a spectator.
