    Second derivative =0

first of all, at f"(x) = 0 a inflexion point may not occur (re: case of x^4) and you need to test it to confirm whether or not it is an inflexion point. and no it cannot be a max or min. max and min relate to the turning points or stationary points, i.e. when f'(x) = 0 f'(2)=f"(2)=0 is a HPOI...

what exactly is a thesis ?

so thesis in its entirety is YOUR answer to a question the difference between a topic sentence and your thesis is that a TS explores ideas supporting your thesis. for example, if a question was like: "are dogs better than cats?" and my answer was "yes, dogs are better than cats because of...

    Neatness of your work

Well think of this way...if you're notes are messy and gross, you'll be too repulsed to look at it, making studying them fruitless. Unless you don't care about handwriting, then it shouldn't matter.

    In a lot of trouble

    1. Don't dramatise. You've dramatised when you said "is my HSC in the ruins". Dramatising the situation does nothing to help. Look at things with a more realistic approach. 2. Break down your ATAR and determine what HSC marks you need to get to achieve your ATAR goals. From that, determine what...

Is anybody sick of their work

During stress attacks one does not tell a panicky HSC student to restart their major work.

    Hahaha good joke

    HSC subjects help.

With regards to EE1 and EA, they're completely different courses. Extension is more rigourous (thinking wise) and critical than EA.

    HSC subjects help.

14 units is a lot. I would drop to 12 because it's not worth the extra stress.

Is anybody sick of their work

that's good!!! it really sucks when people aren't constructively critical :( it would feel as though you need to start your work again (which is insane if it were to happen) woah :( that's really rude :( I haven't seen a lot of your work but I'm sure it isn't as "unrefined" as they make it out...

    Studying a different option topic

You have to do shipwrecks internally because that's what your school does but in the HSC, the marking centre won't know what school you're from so you can do industrial chem. just make sure you can actually do it before doing it though
  17. rumbleroar

Is 2U the same level as 3U in difficulty?

it depends on your capabilities but in short no. its called extension for a reason :P (its supposed to be more rigourous)

How well do these subjects scale?

As I said, it might not be correct. But tbh if you do well externally, scaling shouldn't be a problem. Don't rely on scaling for your ATAR, rely on yourself.
  19. rumbleroar

How well do these subjects scale?

That is a lot of subjects....in order: Advanced English Economics Modern History Biology Ancient History - Legal Studies SOR PDHPE might not be correct but you also shouldn't rely on scaling for a good ATAR
