    95 = top 5%?

    from memory only about 7% of physics students get a band 6, whereas like 2% get less than 50 (i am talking aligned/moderated marks)

    95 = top 5%?

    No, no, no and no!!

    Actuarial studies is pretty interesting

    Actuarial Studies - right path for me?

    around 95 for MQ, UNSW and ANU i believe

    Lawn Fertiliser Prac - What percentage yields of sulfate did you guys get?

    kool You do realise though that in the Trial (CSSSA, NEAP, IND at least) and HSC they wont ask what percentage you got. They dont ask the numeric results of any experiments in fact, just observations and stuff. For that basically know how to improve accuracy of the experiment as thats a common Q.

    Lawn Fertiliser Prac - What percentage yields of sulfate did you guys get?

    you should be getting very low yields, like 20%, in the experiment because the main point was to illustrate how unreliable it is - however a higher percentage would hgave been attained if you actually implemented the improvements you suggest in the dot point. But yeh, just doing it normally...

    Chem Mon M/C questions

    1 is C because none of the others require spoecificproducts to be formed - A, no one cares what is produced, as long as it burns, B same - its not really monitored in real life, and D - as long as you have the right temperature and materials, it will be fine - C is teh answert because so much...

    Drop it?

    IMO you shouldnt drop anything this late in the year, esp MX1 since a 50% in the trial could, with a bit of work, turn into 45/50 HSC mark, as some of my friends last year were surprised by.

    Melting/Boiling points

    if its a non-polar substance, because the greater the molecular mass, the stronger the dispersion forces. Stronger intermolecular forces mean it is harder to break up 2 molecules, and thus it has a higher melting nd boiling point.

    Growth and Decay Question

    1992 HSC 5b the other 2 parts to that Q are : -Suppose that when time t = 0, exactly one chicken was infected. After how many days will 500 chickens be infected? -Show that dP/dt =P(1000-P) incase u were interested.

    Actuarial Studies

    yes, 95.30 UAI last year - via entry into B Commerce, u then major in Actuarial Studies

    Locus Problem

    isnt that the definition of an ellipse (PS+PS'=2a)? although thats 4U SO when you solve what kurt.physics did it should turn out to be an elipse.

    Physics Syllabus Q for assesment

    what parts of EMR are used in communication technology sucha s radios use radio waves - FM and AM W e dont use Gamma or X rays cause they would kill us etc.. im sure youll find plenty of info, just wikipedia each of the parts of the EM Spectrum and it should have a part devoted to uses...

    calculating UAI's

    its ATAR now. Use SAM - But your eally are guessing at this stage,a s the amrks u input should be moderated marks, which is ahrd to predict.... Also use the Conversion tables on the UAC site to convert the UAI from SAM to an ATAR.

    Acceleration, Velocity and Displacement graphs

    yeh, you can be asked to draw a velocity graph given a displacement graph, or even draw a displacement graph given a velocity graph with initial conditions. Just know that when there is a max turning point on displacement, velocity is going from positive to negative, and thus crosses the...

    Help with Quanta to Quarks!

    ill answer ur bolded part: well basically, just think about it - when electrons fall from one energy level to anoyther they emit EMR - the frequency is related to the size of the energy gap. Now suppose, according to calssical physics, energy is not quantised an electrons can exist at any...
