Do I have a shot at medicine

It's a competitive ATAR for sure. Go for it.

    Help! Getting into medicine:

No you don't. They'll teach you everything you'd need to know or at least cover it in a way that you can go off and do further self learning via textbooks. You're clearly not a medical student and know nothing about the courses. This has been covered extensively and repeatedly on BoS, so if...

Two medical system in Australia bad?

Shouldn't surprise anyone really. The private system is necessary for relieving pressure on the public system by taking care of a large number of non-urgent cases so having it around is definitely a good thing.

    Dentistry or Medicine

Crux of the point is that Doctor is not a legally protected title, "Medical Practitioner" is.

    They are not.

Look, how you study is something you'll need to work out and it's not something anyone can tell you. Go home, chill, study, chill, sleep, repeat. I studied by being very good at high school English which is basically what UMAT is, it's a test of vocabulary and literacy I think. Requirements...

I never had to apply as a Uni student so I'm the wrong person to ask. How you study depends, have a read of my blog it should answer most of your questions. I don't really make study notes much outside of the preclinical years, I go straight off journals or textbooks.

    1. You need to "average" a 6.0 in all your subjects. 3. Head to your student office after your exams are done and you're about to submit applications. Alternately call the UWS SoM and ask them what you need. 4. I don't know, I guess they would. 7. What the other guy said above. 8. Consistency...

I should think Distinctions and above, it's 6.5 for single semester 2. You do need to apply online, you still go through UAC. I...

    Umat 2014

It's the real world mate, suck it up, grow a pair and at least pretend to be the professional you aspire to be. Not everyone patient or colleague is going to be as friendly or as "mature" as you are. Deal with it and move on. There aren't going to be moderators in a clinic/hospital setting, just...

    Umat 2014

You're both aspiring doctors, act like someone who's going to be in the profession. This behaviour is pretty pathetic.

    Dentistry or Medicine

Tumours can't be treated with rainbows and butterflies either. Your sentence doesn't make grammatical sense and your point is silly.

    Most expensive P plater car

They did the Golf Mk VII against the M135i last season which was actually very good.
  14. Havox

    Most expensive P plater car

I don't think there are at the moment, you would technically throw the SLS electric supercar in there as well.
  15. Havox

    Most expensive P plater car

Top Gear is an entertainment show, if they started reviewing stuff that everybody could get into I'd stop watching it. I watch the show because I wanna know what the new supercar made out of unobtainium is like to drive, I couldn't care less about a base model 3 series or the new Chrysler...

    Most expensive P plater car

I'm going to go with because a lot of them suffer from niche production, parts are hand fitted and much of them are hand finished and will not have the quality control of a production line product. Quality and performance are not the same thing, and certainly was not the point I was making. The...

    Most expensive P plater car

    You've just proved his point.

Am I alone in hating airplane food?

I thought while QANTAS service was probably one of the best of any of 20+ airlines I've flown with, the food and the quality of the aircraft was some of the worst I've come across in a "premium" airline.

I don't do Chemistry for high school...can I still get into Medicine?

Okay, let's cut the bullshit hearsay. You don't need to go into medicine knowing high school chemistry, definitely not for the undergrad courses. Obviously the graduate degrees will have the baseline prereqs. I did have a chem background but the stuff you need to know is VERY basic and there...
