so they reckon geography is a waste of time?

it all comes back to your teacher actually - there are two types of teachers in every subject area - TEXTBOOK TEACHERS and ENTHUSIASTIC TEACHERS, the latter of which have the knowledge in their head. I'm fortunate enough to have a prominent local cultural geographer/local historian as my...

    Assessment: Report

WOOOOOOOOT!!!! FULL MARKS FOR REPORT!!!! I'M SO HAPPY!!!! Thanks heaps guys for the useful advice... Also the teacher telling us that people tended to approach it as a reflection statement, rather than a report which affected their marks (negatively)... hey, is someone gonna put up any hints...

    Reflections

like with the viva and report, in the reflection statement u can lie and bs as much as u want! "I gained further understanding of bla bla bla, something that I hadn't previously appreciated"... Just put yourselves into the shoes of the English teachers who are going to be marking it - they want...

Who is the hottest Archaeologist for 06??

our 2 ancient teachers hav a disturbing fondness for Andrew Wallace Hadrill, who is labelled as "the pin up boy of archaeology" every time he is mentioned and recounts of his hansomeness, etc... but I think we are forgetting the king of archaeology - the man in the fedora himself - the very...

Telling the Truth - Related Texts

we're doing as ORM "Chaser" stuff, and also the recent BBC series "Absolute Power" with Stephen Fry (just shown on the ABC) - these are really great.. but a lot of ppl are underestimating the usefulness of what have become known "Busherisms" (yes, when George f's up wot he is saying) - so many...

    English Extension 2, 2006 - Mediums

Erm, I think perhaps <i>you</i> should take a look at the last option - it says "Script (Radio)" - that just involves writing a script - "Radio Drama" involved people recording and editing their 10-15minute radio production... i.e. NOT just a script This actually proves my point that NOBODY...

If you've lost your virginity, at what age?

Re: when did you lose your virginity? yer, i'm saving myself for marriage too - i guess it just shows your devotion to the person you marry - that you've kept something just for them

OK, let me put it this way: is anyone NOT going

as if u'd go to schoolies! its almost as organised as school itself - so many rules and regulations - and ppl still think its a "holiday"? haha y waste ur money! I've been saving up and am planning on taking a gap year travelling Europe. And who going on schoolies is gonna remember half the...

    English Extension 2, 2006 - Mediums

HEY!!!! Whats going on?!??! Where is "Radio Drama"? Thats right, RADIO DRAMA!?!! It seems that absolutely NOBODY knows what that is - everyone assuming it falls under "Scripts" or "Speeches" - NO! In Radio Drama we have to write a 10-15 minute script and produce it (ie acting, recording, editing...

    Where to record?

WHAT THE HELL!?!??! Don't you DARE waste your money on a recording studio lol all you need is a nerd for a friend - he/she should be able to supply u with some decent recording software for your computer - and all else you need is a microphone. I'm using Cool Edit Pro 2.1 (which I admit I...

    Assessment: Report

Woot! Submitted my report today, so relieved! Sorry to say I didn't start a week in advance, which did get me worried, but it turned out better than I thought in the end. I also think I have an advantage in that others in my class viewed this as a "draft reflection statement" when it isn't - I...

    How did your Vivas go?

I did mine a while ago, but I got 14/15.... Our teacher said that it is impossible to get full marks at that stage as the marking criteria are for the major work as a whole, which obviously hasn't been completed at the time of the Viva... thus those that got a mark or two off from full marks...

    2006 Radio Plays

I'm just interested to know if anyone else is doing a Radio Play... tell me if you are, or know of anyone doing it - it is THE least chosen medium (apart from Film, which noboy has ever done) Also, the standards packages NEVER contain Radio Plays, which I think is perhaps why nobody ever choses...
