    Medicine - UMAT and interview

it's not as bad as you think, you start earning money after you graduate, it's 55K a year or thereabouts for an intern. So technically it takes long to be a GP but you do start earning a somewhat stable living before then. Plus being fully qualified at 30 is not as bad as you would think...

    Medicine - UMAT and interview

5-6 year medical degree, 2years as a JMO (intern then registrar I think), 4-6 year specialisation depending on the speciality so 11 - 14 years in total.

    Medicine - UMAT and interview

if you want to prepare for UNSW's interview, start developing your communications skills - talk to people and practise eye contact. Also try not to say 'um', 'yeah' and 'like', talk 'properly'. If you're a determined, cheerful, optimistic and an approachable person to begin with you're already...

    UWS Law

oh I see, damn I need to start reading Australian articles, a lot of my sources are American - guess that makes sense they always have to be on top don't they?

    UWS Law

smartest post on here, I think Usyd lets you do a degree then transfer after first year?
  6. W

    UWS Law

I think most people in the legal profession would disagree with you on that one, how would people justify law as one of the noble pursuits if it's as accessible as UWS Law? And if I were trying to keep the reputation of my field, I'd be pushing Usyd graduates into my company all the way, because...

    UWS Law

immature idiots like me, hmm well I guess most of the state are immature idiots as well considering the cut off for UWS law is so low, i.e. it's unpopular with us idiots.
  8. W

    UWS Law

don't do UWS Law, with law the prestige and reputation of the university is everything, it's not like medicine where any school is a good school. Think about it, why would Cambridge Law, Harvard Law, Sydney Law be harder to get into compared to UWS? Go to UWS if you plan to teach Legal Studies...

Civ engineering vs Mech Engineering vs Electrical Engineering vs Software Engineering

Re: Civ engineering vs Mech Engineering vs Electrical Engineering vs Software Enginee do computer engineering bro, it's the most awesome of the engineering courses (except maybe biomedical and aerospace if you really like that stuff). Electrical engineering is super hard though, and boring

    School Rankings 2011

Wow I can't even begin to imagine the standards at Ruse, are you guys the best school in the southern hemisphere?

For all those who got 90+ ATARS....

+1, I think people are scared that they have to do a lot of hours ( I know I was panicking midway through the year because I'd done half my hsc only loosely sticking to my timetable<--which I got rid of in the end)

For all those who got 90+ ATARS....

oh I meant all nighters as in get home in the late afternoon and study till dawn, guess I have a really extreme definition of it. To any 2012 HSC students, don't do this kind of all nighter you'll hurt your result at the end by losing too much sleep (you can't catch up sleep btw that's bs)

For all those who got 90+ ATARS....

I didn't pull a single all nighter but I managed a 99.40 atar (I know it's average by the standards of the top schools so maybe this isn't so surprising after all). Your teachers might've told you that you need all nighters for 99+ atars (I know one of my teachers did) but you really don't...
  14. W

Who got 99+ and is genuinely surprised?

how many .95's did ruse get this year?

HSC markers kept like pigs in a pen

So long as they don't stuff up my marks I don't care :). maybe in the midst of the stench and frustration one of my english essays gets a 15 cause the marker thought it was an /20 essay ^^.

    business studies HSC

my advice is to drop business studies asap; there is too much content in my opinion (5 topics and a case study, that's more than any of the sciences!) - it is all about rote learning your notes and regurgitating them, all that for a very bad scaling subject (the worst of the humanities I'm told...

    Hi, Estimate :)

I don't understand why people ask for estimates here when they could use one of the calculators O.o - I'd say you're looking at a 96 ATAR (just kidding I have no idea, thought I'd post since you had 24 views and no replys lol)
