    Getting hired after Work Experience

Have you ever done upaid work experience for a store/organisation and was later offered a paid postion in their staff? Say for example, you worked at a popular store and the manager sees potential in you. If you were an excellent sales assistant, is there a chance they'd hire you after your...

    Maccas help

It's strange. I work at Maccas, and in one the emails I received [when they told me I was hired] they said: I haven't been paid for those two hours. I just remembered the payslip didn't anything about the module. I'll have to check this out. Did you guys get paid for completing the 2-hour...

    The Pay Thread

Oh looks like it's been transferred today. That's good. I was worried when I saw the payslip and checked my bank balance to find nothing there. Yeah, it looks like I just keep the payslip for a record of my payments, etc.

    The Pay Thread

It lists all the shifts I've worked last week and how much was my rate, and how much I was paid for the shfits. It says on the slip that I've been paid toay, but I don't see the amount on my account balance. Maybe they paid, but the bank has not yet processed it? Do you think that's the case?

    The Pay Thread

I've received my first payslip today via email, but apparently my bank account hasn't been credited with my pay yet? I'm sorry I'm quite new to all this so I want to know how to use the payslip. I was told by my manager to 'just print it' and do a transaction at my local bank. Is that right?

Help me - I'm in a sticky spot..

Big problem. I've got my first shift tomorrow at 1pm. My rostering manager has not called me back about my uniform - we didn't get it at Orientation last Saturday. What do I do? Should I call her again? She hasn't answered her phone?

Casual or Part-time: Which to choose?

Casuals do get paid more, but we are not entitled to certain privilleges that Part-timers get, like paid leave. If you decide to go on Holiday, for example. And for casual, how many shifts you get depends mostly on business demands (busy day = more casuals)

    The McDonald's Thread

Re: I also have a McDonalds interview... They might ask you why you want the job, how you will contribute, what are your hobbies [be honest] and other personality questions. Macdonalds aren't too hard on interviews. The first thing my manager asked me for was proof of right to work in...

Help me - I'm in a sticky spot..

Guys, I got the job and I'm waiting for them to call me for my first shift, but it's already been two days. I'm getting kind of anxious to start work. Should I wait for their call or would they mind if I gave them a call? I need the managers to fax a statement to my school saying I'm an employee...

    First-time Job

Department stores like MYER and DAVID JONES are quite hard to get jobs for, and unless you have prior retail experience I would think you would wait a long time to get an answer. Fast-food outlets take very little time to respond back. I applied online on 13/11, and was asked to interview on...

    The McDonald's Thread

Re: McDonalds Interview Hey, sorry about that. I bet it sucks. Is there another Macca's near your area you have transport to? Maybe it's a good idea if you try out for 3 stores all at once and see where that gets you. My first application to Liverpool Megacentre was rejected before I even got...

    interview bomb

Just answer the questions directly and try to be yourself - that's the most important thing, I think. It might help if you imagine what sort of questions the person interviewing you is going to ask; that way you can anticipate it and not become overly nervous. Then again, you won't know exactly...

Re: McDonalds Interview Personally, if I'm going to work for a bigger Retailer (and trust me, I want to) then I'll need to get some solid work experience first. I'm aiming for ESPRIT, COUNTRY ROAD, and ROGER DAVID in the future, once I have a solid resume.

Help me - I'm in a sticky spot..

Okay, so at the interview today they asked me questions, like 'what are your hobbies', 'why should I employ you out of other people', 'how will you contribute to macdonalds' and 'describe yourself in three ways' The last question was.. uggh.. I didn't prepare an answer and ended up looking...
