    Was that a Maths exam?

That because there was no working involved in that question, it was reading off a graph If you state the correct answer, with no working then that is normally considered to be proof of correct substitution and marked correct. If you subst correctly and then make a calculator error you will...

    Writing in pencil???

Don't worry it will still be read and marked.

    Energy Transformations Question

A table structure will definetly be in the marking scheme. I doubt if you would obtain more than half marks if it isn't in a table format.

    Question 20?

Can anyone remember the exact wording of the question? The structure of the table is going to be important. Also, how did it say transfer and transformation. I can't remember

    The Transistors In Australia question

At the moment I am guessing but I would say there will have to be an Australian relationship to it. It also will have to be specific applications of transistors in communications. Eg. Reduce staffing, lengthen ability to send long distance calls etc.

    Bohr and De Broglie

He expanded on the Bohr model, so the electrons were no longer particles orbitting but standing waves.

    Photoelectric effect and current

Are you talking about above or below threshold frequency?
  8. H

    T1 and T2

You don't really need to know the definition of both but you do need to realise to obtain a greater contrast, you want a larger difference between the two. T1 is the longitudional relaxation time, that is to go back to their natural line up with magnetic fields. T2 is the transverse relaxation...

    questions

    Conservation of momentum etc

    Raw marks FOI question

That must also depend on the subject. In the sciences, there is no marks placed on any paper, no matter how many pages the answer is.

    Impact of Medical Physics Discussion

Go the next step. Eg Keyhole, surgery requires less recovery time and this means society benefits due to less work hours lost due to surgery etc....

    Raw marks FOI question

No they don't put a mark on the paper at all.

New SMH Article: Changes to English/SOR leaving students vulnerable

You might want to check facts. Eg in the top 5 companies in Australia it is a balance of economics and science

The Board Of Studies Is A Joke

The strucutre and the outline is there. What detail do you want? By doing two, you aren't specifically marked down but you have penalised yourself, by not spending the time on the one. This means you probably haven't gone into the detail they are after. They are proof read by previous...

New SMH Article: Changes to English/SOR leaving students vulnerable

No every subject is scaled against every other subject based on who does what combination. There isn't a single reference.

New SMH Article: Changes to English/SOR leaving students vulnerable

I remember that change, I think that was removed in the HSC. I am trying to remember back to the pre-Metheral reforms that brought in the English compulsory in legislation. So looking at the early Wyndham years of the 60s through to 1989. Time goes too fast.

New SMH Article: Changes to English/SOR leaving students vulnerable

Looking for a source to quote but it was compulsory to complete but not compulsory for your UAI. I'm not sure if the change was for the NEW HSC or just before,

The Board Of Studies Is A Joke

Not all members of the exam committee have taught the subject. In the sciences at least it is normal to have an academic from a university on the committee. Often they end up being the head examiner.

New SMH Article: Changes to English/SOR leaving students vulnerable

That is wrong. It does help but it isn't required. Up until the 90s Maths was compulsory in the HSC

The Board Of Studies Is A Joke

BOS has always stated the exams shouldn't be predictable in the whole. Some subjects seem to finally have taken notice of the message.
