    Superconductors @#*$&!!!!

Heres another video that explains levitation using the meissner effect. It also explains Maglex trains and how that isn't the meissner effect or flux pinning, which is implied in the first video. :: AMPS - Superconductor Applications ::

    Superconductors @#*$&!!!!

Its a bit like the tuck and trailer diagram in most text books. Its incorrect physics but at high school level it is used to explain it.

    Superconductors @#*$&!!!!

In the past, the idea of analgous to eddy currents has been accepted. Or say that as the magnet approaches, currents are set up to produce a magnetic field to exclude the magnetic field from penetrating the superconductor.

    Superconductors @#*$&!!!!

You need to explain in 1 why there are currents. Say they analgous to eddy currents.

Fairly easy question but I'm a douchenozzle

Do you mean force due to gravity or acceleration? a proportional to m, so 0.1x a inversely proportional to r squared, so 1/0.5 squared times So 9.8*0.1*(1/0.5^2) = 3.92

    illness and misadventure

Applying doesn't mean they are automatically granted. They will look at a number of stats before looking at how to moderate your marks if they are accepted.

    2005 HSC Question 19.

Your answer is a lot better but still only 2 because: 1. It has stated the laws. Derivative implied them but didn't state them and the way the 1st and 2nd are listed was contradictory (2 marks) However Statement 1 is incorrect because it is before the statement, so wouldn't have boosted you...

    2005 HSC Question 19.

1 for derivative To return safely to Earth, the spacecraft from the time of stopping the engine, needs to continue in a spiralling path to the landing site and reduce its velocity. Gravity is applying a force towards the centre of the Earth, that enables the spacecraft to continue its path...

    HSC Physics Course Online?

If you look at the bottom of the syllabus table, you will see edited 15 Aug 08. That is when they changed a few minor points but it is still called the amended 2002 syllabus.

Judges, Markers and Examiners follow the system but it doesn't mean they agreee with it.

    HSC 2005 Question 15.

Apply right hand rule. electrons first: Thumb into of page (opposite to current, so flowing out of page but then need to point into because electrons are negative) Fingers left to right magnetic field Palm forces electrons down Holes Thumb into page (effectively positive charges that...

    HSC Physics Course Online?

The physics has had minor changes since 2002. Just checked and it has the updates from 2008 HSC Online Remember the Board of Studies Site always has the current syllabus.

"Board of Studies lashed over HSC" and other stories

Minimum standard expected is different to minimum acceptable standard. Yes that terminology was used. It has a different meaning. One is saying that it is acceptable to reach that standard, the other is stating that you should be at least able to reach this standard by sitting in the classroom...

"Board of Studies lashed over HSC" and other stories

I would disagree and when pilot through the judging process, it wasn't used. They stated it is the minimum standard they will acknowledge as a student having completed the course. When asked was it the minimal acceptable standard, the answer was no. This may be due to different people from...

"Board of Studies lashed over HSC" and other stories

What you mean is 50, because the board never refers to these marks as %. That is why I don't like the scale out of 100, because people immediately think it is a %. Board doesn't have a minimum acceptable standard. The 50 in each subject has a different meaning and it is described by the...

"Board of Studies lashed over HSC" and other stories

Except as you know a raw mark of 60% doesn't mean you know 60% of the work in the course because of only a fraction of the course being examined. It also means that there is no comparison from one year to the next. A standards based approach is a better way of allowing employers to compare...

alright i know what raw and aligned marks are but what's the weighting mark/

The weighting is used to moderate questions that are not completed by everyone. Eg Electives in Chemistry are moderated.

In the sciences they don't. They mainly appear in long answer questions, so could be the result of double marking and averaging. Not sure why in the low mark English questions

    scaling

Remember even if it isn't included in your best 10 Units, it is still used in the calculations for scaling. Thus, if you don't study for it, then it will drag all your other subjects down. How much??? Really depends on wha the rest of your cohort does.
