What kindof marks, plus experience do you need to get interviews for summer internships for the big banks (say, in either investment banking, equities, or actuarial roles). Also, does it make a difference if your doing straight commerce, or a double degree (or honours)?

Yeah, it was fun. The actual trading game was relatively simple, and the night was more of a recruiting gimmick. We had the chance to talk to UBS equity traders, which I found quite worthwhile. However, I did expect much more people, there were only about 30 odd people, in a small conference room.

Im first yr actuarial student at UNSW. I think we started with 200, and prob down to 130 ish now. Many ppl drop out because they cant stand it, the failure rate wouldnt be too high. The reason why drop out rate is lower at MQ, because the have a higher UAI cutoff, this yr it was 95 for UNSW...

most of the commerce stuff is all on webct, i dont bother going to lectures, but u should go to tutorials (prob 4-5 hrs a week). But yeh, including lectures prob around 15 hrs a week.
