Mikey... my advice is this. If it bothers you so much that its constantly on your mind. Then do something about it. If its just something that bothers you from time to time... then I'd say its up to you. If it rarely bothers you... then don't bother. Thats all I can offer...

Aside from the phone lines or modem (which you've stated previously worked) it can only be the configuration in XP... I remember having the same problem with Dial-up a while ago before running Windows update... But I think it had something to do with the "Phone and Modem" options...

The 300W PSU should be enough depending on how many HDD's, what GFX Card (some need extra power) etc. If its not, having a 300w PSU spare isn't a bad investment... particularly when something important is due and the main one breaks :)
