SDD Textbook on Joel's old site.

our class (all five!) have both the heinemann and davis's book (most have the excel as well). i think davis's book is much better overall but there are a few topics/or parts of topics that are covered better in the heinemann bk. the excel is a hady backup but not too reliable.

    Section II of exam!

good luck (if you've been good and not distracted you won't read this till afterwards :)). In preparing for art exams, do you prepare for just one type of question (e.g. the stuff i'm interested is postmodern works, use of new material and stuff that can be challanging/shocking)?

is anyone doing anything visual arty-related next year?

i was wanting to do graphic design at either newcastle uni or UTS (apparently they're both pretty good as far as graphic design goes, but UTS is a bit scary cos it involves moving to sydney and there aren't any colleges at UTS and i don't want to move into a house just yet - bills, rent...

    Section II of exam!

the last essay i did (a homework one, not an exam one, but it was a past hsc question) i had 3 artists (2 works each), with passing references to some others. in exams i think i usually have 3 artists with 2 works each or 2 artists with 2 or 3 works each, but there's no set number...

Re: Re: sept 11 influences in major works? Now that you mention it, i suppose there was some sort of influence, although i don't think i thought about it at the time - the card idea was an offshoot of some earlier stuff i was doing. i agree with fight club being a v. good movie-- chuck...

sept 11 influences in major works?

the reason i started this thread was that i had this idea that come marking time my work would be one in a range of s11-ish artworks.

sept 11 influences in major works?

some of my stuff is digital-- the card (part of a small sculpture/installation as information stand), 6 A2-size posters with images derived from it. both done in illustrator. the other thing is a series of 3 small collages - disaster scenes made with bits of plane safety cards. i don't have a...

Are you working during the summer break b4 uni?? if so ... where??

i wanna be an extra... i wanna be an extra. apparently the pay is ok, and of for nothing else, the experience. and you don't even need to know how to act (if you are an extra who has spent years in acting school for it, now is the time to shoot my argument to bits). alternatively, you could...

sept 11 influences in major works?

does anyone else think that the september 11 attacks and consequences had some influence/shows through in their artwork? I think that it has in my work (subconciously, not intentionally), which is based around the absurdity of instructions on aircraft safety information/emergency...
