    GOVT1105 Geopolitics

However, at least we're certain that sports will be in the exam. I'll have to go over the lecture notes to work out what the hell it's all about, though.

    GOVT1105 Geopolitics

*sob* Why must lecturers delude themselves that their personal research interests are relevant to junior undergraduates?

    GOVT1105 Geopolitics

Ditto. Unfortunately they'll probably all resemble the incoherent wankery of the lecture on 'protest'.

2007 Federal Election - Coalition or Labor/Howard or Rudd?

Plus: after an initial upsurge, government support in the betting markets is again collapsing. Graph here. Edit: 1500th post!

How are we going to know when we can pick them up? Will they email us or something?

    Health Science Preferences???

I don't think any health sci courses are available at main campus.

2007 Federal Election - Coalition or Labor/Howard or Rudd?

That's probably part of it, yeah. (It could equally be that there's a swing on in safe Liberal seats that have margins that are big enough to allow the government to hold them and are therefore unlikely to fall, a la Wentworth and North Sydney.) But if Labor's 2PP is in the range of 56% - which...

2007 Federal Election - Coalition or Labor/Howard or Rudd?

A poll in the key seat of Eden-Monaro says 56-44 to Labor, and today's ACNielsen Online poll gives the same split nationwide. Less than a month from the election, this is pretty bad news for the government.

    Semester 2 Chatter Thread (2007)

Re: Semester II Chatter Thread! You could watch Friday Night Download, Ten's newest contribution to the slow death of television.

    The Bureaucracy of USYD

A light-up yoyo? Why the hell did Sydney suddenly start giving out free stuff the year after my HSC? I hate them all. :(:(:(

    Semester 2 Chatter Thread (2007)

Re: Semester II Chatter Thread! The HSTY1088 essays aren't going to be back until next week. Gah! They've had more than three weeks, how hard can it be for 2-3 people to mark less than 200 essays in that time? Yeah, so I just felt I should let out that anger. In other news, it appears that...

    UAC letter?

I'm a non-year 12 applicant and I haven't got one either. As far as I know, it's not a problem. Maybe one of the learned mods can confirm?

    Train fares to rise (Sydney)

This is why you buy a flexipass. Prepaid for the whole semester, so you can sidestep any fare increases. I'm actually pretty happy with CityRail's service. My trains run on time, I almost always get a seat, the carriages are clean and the seats are reasonably comfy. (I take intercity trains...

TAR12 will premiere in the US on November 4th. So, knowing Australian TV, we'll see it sometime after Easter.

    Semester 2 Chatter Thread (2007)

Re: Semester II Chatter Thread! My aim is 2 HDs and 2 Ds, which would most likely get me into law. However, that's probably not going to happen. More likely is 1HD/3D, or even more likely, 4 Ds. I'm hoping not to get any passes or credits. (Or fails.)

    Semester 2 Chatter Thread (2007)

Re: Semester II Chatter Thread! Yeah, that would be because science majors work a bit differently to arts majors, I think. There are bugger all senior Greek courses anyway, so it's not hard to prioritise the Roman ones. I think it's a 4/1 split next year. Rome this semester was much better...

    Semester 2 Chatter Thread (2007)

    Semester 2 Chatter Thread (2007)

Re: Semester II Chatter Thread! Totally. Majoring in it and considering doing honours. Only I'm completely indecisive, so I'm trying to structure it so I can switch to normal history if I suddenly decide I want to.
