    National Studies HISTORIOGRAPHY

Re: Historians But writers of text books don't really quantify as valid historians, particularly in the eyes of the markers. Paraphrase things they say but don't quote them as you'd quote Dalleck or Chomsky or someone.

    Graduation Discussion

Re: whens your graduation Ohhhh. Weird. You at like a Senior College or something? Just wear like a nice dress and nice shoes, or a nice top and pants and have your hair nice. Not jeans and like a hoody and not like some skanky dress. But not formal either, just.. what you'd wear to say...

"the naturally smart kids aren't usually the ones who do well in the HSC"

What a charming attitude. Though I tend to agree, subjects don't indicate intelligence. Then again, a lower ranked school does not indicate a lack there of. 464th, btw. ^^

"the naturally smart kids aren't usually the ones who do well in the HSC"

And to be ranked first in all but maths, btw. *Shrug* Innernetz is a bad place to argue about intelligence because much is lost with lack of face to face.

"the naturally smart kids aren't usually the ones who do well in the HSC"

*Shrug* No status raising involved. If this were all an ego fuck I'd be fighting back hard, but I'm not. You've got a legitimate point, I was highly contradictory because I'm unwell, tired, and beyond caring about this debate. Its a means by which to wittle away time between now and bed. I...

"the naturally smart kids aren't usually the ones who do well in the HSC"

To further understand the concept and make sure I AM grasping it completely and wholey, thats how I reinforce it. Practical application. Doing things over and over. Making sure I've got everything.

"the naturally smart kids aren't usually the ones who do well in the HSC"

And I don't mind being poked at or challenged or questioned. *shrugs* I'm not going to go to bed tonight and fret over BOS. Either you get what I'm saying and agree or disagree, orrrr you don't and I'll try and make myself clearer. In the end, it doesn't really matter.

"the naturally smart kids aren't usually the ones who do well in the HSC"

Always arrogance darling! Its not so much memorisation as fine tuning. You can't write an A band essay right away, and its only with continual fine tuning and application of the concept you understand that you can. I didn't mean to sound as though I spend all night re writing definitions...

"the naturally smart kids aren't usually the ones who do well in the HSC"

I lolled. I'm tired and sick, and the internet is the last of my worries when it comes to being understood. I really could care less, I'm just putting out my two cents and managing my change in the meantime between going to bed.

"the naturally smart kids aren't usually the ones who do well in the HSC"

My point exactly. Its all well and good to understand everything but you've got to put in the work to be able to replicate knowledge well.

"the naturally smart kids aren't usually the ones who do well in the HSC"

*Shrugs* Nit pick all you want. I'm smart, but its got to be done until I'm satisfied I can do it perfectly. Doing it once won't do it for me. Hard work and natural flair for learning.

"the naturally smart kids aren't usually the ones who do well in the HSC"

I am smart in that I understand and grasp concepts and knowledge alot quicker than most, and am able to write fluently and with passion and flair in an articulate manner. So yes, it 'just clicks'. I do, however, have to make sure it all sticks once it has clicked. I can't just do something...

"the naturally smart kids aren't usually the ones who do well in the HSC"

Allow me to elaborate. I cannot soak in information and retain it upon hearing it once. I must repeat things to make it stick. That is, while I understand and grasp knowledge quickly and easilly, I have to make sure it sticks through repetition. Perhaps sponge wasnt the best word?
