The Burkha, what do you think? Taliban or Qur'an?

Yes, that's right Not all Muslims are Arab and not all Arabs are Muslim. Even some of the Muslims who are Arab don't come from the desert. I'm Muslim and I've never been to the desert in my life. Those long clothes are a Middle Eastern cultural thing but because they fit the requirements...

The Burkha, what do you think? Taliban or Qur'an?

Hijab refers to the dress requirements of Muslims. So it encompasses the scarf as well as loose, covered clothing (the moderate kind of clothing most Muslims wear). The burqa (the long dress covering the face) fits the requirements of hijab. However, it is not required of Muslim women to go to...

The Burkha, what do you think? Taliban or Qur'an?

The first part of what you said is correct. As for the second part, are you referring to the burqa or hijab?

The Burkha, what do you think? Taliban or Qur'an?

Getting back to the original topic.......if it is their choice to wear the burqa then let them be. If not, then obviously it's wrong. However, I dont think it's very practical to wear the burqa, particularly in Western societies. Note: The Quran clearly does not require women to wear the...

    Muslim headscarves

Ok lemme clear it up. It IS a decree by God. Muslim women are required to wear it once they reach puberty. However, that does not mean that anyone has the right to force it upon them eg: father, husband etc. They are obliged by religion but they cannot be forced by people into following this...

    help!

Yeah that gets annoying. I studied heaps for ancient and did really bad and then I didn't study much for legal and did really good. But yeah, don't look back, it'll get u nowhere. Just keep looking forward and how much u can improve before hsc comes around. Maybe you need to work on ur exam...

    help!

bEAbEA is right. You still have the opportunity to improve your marks considerably. Trial marks are not necessarily a good indication of what you will get in the hsc. Even if you failed in your trials, it is still not impossible to get a band 6 in legal (though extremely rare but by no means...

Islam is my choice, so what does it mean for love...hey they've got a christian one:P

Not at all. I know many young ppl who have converted to Islam eg: a friend of my brother converted a couple of years ago (he's about 20ish now). Though your right, it is pretty rare at our age.

Islam is my choice, so what does it mean for love...hey they've got a christian one:P

Kaffir means infidel. In Islam, a Chrstian or a Jew is not considered a kaffir, however, an athiest/hindu etc is. From what I gathered ella fitzgerald, she is a Muslim and her parents are not. However, I doubt that them wanting to prevent her from getting married is because he (her potential...

Islam is my choice, so what does it mean for love...hey they've got a christian one:P

Salam, Maybe u should consider the reasons why ur parents dont want u to get married. After all, they are older and have more experience with these things. If after careful consideration there is no doubt in your mind that u still want to get married, then I think u should consult a sheikh...

I got 87%, came 2nd. The highest was 87.5% and Im not sure of the lowest. I had to correct him...
