pretty bad at AP and GP

    hey lol that method works just got to simplify what they've given you (2n+1 - 2) - (2n - 2) = 2n+1 - 2 - 2n + 2 = 2n(2-1) = 2n RHS = 2n+1 - 2n = 2n(2 - 1) = 2n = LHS as required

pretty bad at AP and GP

    You can prove it by induction, but thats 3 unit. But I guess it might still be valid. I will skip to the assume true for n=k step: 2k+1 - 2k = 2k+1 -2 Need to prove true for n = k+1 i.e. prove: 2k+1 - 2 + 2k+2 - 2k+1 = 2k+2 - 2 LHS = 2k+1(1+2-1) -2 = 2k+1(2) -2 = 2k+2 - 2 = RHS...

    Simpson's Rule

    The way I learnt it, it can be applied to everything h = (b-a)/n where n is one less than the number of function values (i.e. n is the number of intervals/strips) A = h/3 [f(a) + 4f(a + h) + 2f(a + 2h) + 4f(a + 3h) +...+f(b) ] Its basically the same as the other formulas mentioned above.

And for 10 b: (i) It is known that the speed, v, is inversely proportional to the depth of the snow. i.e. v = A/h where A is constant. this also means that dx/dt = v = A/h Since the depth of the snow, h, increases at a constant rate, let the depth h be represented by mt, where m is...
