Move a magnet in and out of a solenoid thats connected to a galvanometer. Vary the strength of the magnet, the angle its inserted in with, how quickly you move the magnet, etc.
Umm I think here they just mean that the different experimental values of g that are attained in different altitudes and locations, but i might be wrong
Hey everyone, Can I please get help with this question:
An open box is to be made of thin sheet metal with a square base having edges x metres long and vertical sides y metres long. It is to have a volume of 2 m3
(i) Show that the surface area of the box (asuming negligible thickness) is...
hardly, i have been reading your views on the history forum. I was merely providing a link for the sake of everyone reading this thread in case they wanted some background.
There was a really good answer to the Manhattan project in the 2001 HSC standards package. I took the liberty of typing it up a few days ago, to anyone who is interested.
The standards package is located here...
Presuming this is right:
-20(1+tan2x) + 60tanx - 20 = 0
-20 - 20tan2x + 60tanx - 20 = 0
20tan2x - 60tanx + 40 = 0
tan2x - 3tanx + 2 = 0
let u = tan x
u2 - 3u + 2 = 0
(u-2)(u-1)=0
.: tan x = 2 or tan x = 1
45 o < x < tan-1 2

And here is background on Nietzsche

There's really no need to do it, why would you want to cram in extra knowledge than is already required by the modern cours ;)
Obviously theres nothing stopping you though :D
I never understood the motors and generators crap until I got to Year 12, so dont worry too much about it in year 11..Just keep trying, and get some other people to explain it to you other than your teacher if possible.
Yeah, the other way uses triangles with tan (x/2) = t
you also know that sin2@ = 2sin@cos@ so therefore sin@=2sin(@/2)cos(@/2). Just work out the half angles using the triangle and you get the same result
The actual solution they give in the independent paper solutions is much, much simpler although perhaps mathematically invalid. The previous question shows a diagram of a unit circle with a hexagon or some other polygon transcribed within it. They simply ask what each of the angles in the centre...
You could also talk about the twins paradox. TIme dilation would make it useless to travel to deep space because by the time you come back to Earth, your family and relatives would have been long dead
A DC motor suffers from the fact that there is a back emf - a force that acts in the opposite direction of the motor's rotation due to the "Generator effect". This generator effect is caused by the rotation of the coil inside a magnetic field, and its direction is opposite to that of the current...
