people who did neap 2005 phy!!

lol.. yeah in first in physics and chem, enough about me lol, the class's average is pretty low cause again we have a small class, but the top five people got 70+. I dont think its hard to get a uai of 85+, just download JUAISEEK (its on these forums) and set it to a UAI of 85 and see what...

You *know* you're a chemistry nerd when...

When the teacher asks "whats the proper definition for an acid" and you reply "an electron-pair acceptor" when the answer required was simply "proton donor"

    Gal Pos-cat Neg-an!!!!!!!

Yeah..I always remember it through physics - the cathode is negative in the cathode ray tube, and because i know that you put current into a cathode ray tube its similar to the electrolytic cell. And its just the opposite for the galvanic cell

People did neap chem 2005 trials.

ahh ok.. We have a very small class, I think our average was around 70s..the next highest marks were 90 and then 88..

people who did neap 2005 phy!!

lol yeah neap for physics was tough...i made a lot of silly errors especially in multiple choice too lol. I ended up with 85% though so it wasnt as bad as i thought

People did neap chem 2005 trials.

I did neap and got a raw mark of 95.5 , although the very last part of shipwrecks topic we hadnt done so our teacher changed the last question. However in the core I got full marks though :D I find it quite difficult to understand why any teacher would want to 'scale' marks. The assessment...

    Galvanic Cell Help!

a galvanometer is just a device that measures current flow. Its basically an ammeter except it can usually measure much smaller current flows (i.e. in milli or microamps)

    probability (simple)

    1-p(no japanese) = 1 - (7C4 / 10C4) = 0.8333 = 5/6

    Year11's doing HSC

Go for it, the better you do this year the easier it will be next year to get a high UAI, so make the best of it :D

How do u all feel right before the HSC?

Yeah, similar to you, I used to hate chemistry but now I realise that once you've got the basics its not hard, and a lot of the content is just rote learnt anyway, and the summaries I've made throughout the year have been great preparation (they allowed me to get a high trial mark)...I'm...

    Different Trial Paper

There are different ones for different regions, e.g. the western region one is used for schools in the far west, like the blue mountains i think

    Inverse Trig graphs

Yeah, for normal inverses that technique works well. The inverse trig graphs on the other hand are much better just memorising..For example graph y = 2sin-1 2x To graph this find the domain and range, you do that like this: -1<x<1 (for all inverse sine graphs) -1<2x<1 so (-1/2)< x <(1/2)...

ethyl ethanoate or spirovirbio desulfircans (I think thats what sulafate reducing bacteria are called :D)

Coming first in a bodgy class.

Your internal mark is pulled down to 90 so your final mark is 90.

lol, I do, but I never get a straight answer

I know these are annoying but can someone please help me.

Just put in any ten random entries for UAC and change them once you know your uai

oh ok..lol i guess they will have to share half an award for first in their subject at school

Thank you for doing the math

    Difference between 18 and 20

oh, sorry when I said band six, I meant adding on my mark from the first paper as well, which is usually about 38/45. therefore 38 + 54 = 92/105 which is not a band six (i.e. its less t han 90%)...

    Two people ranked first

Can two people come first in assessment marks? I know these two guys in economics who have the exact same assessment mark, they got the same mark in the trials and every assignment as well, so what would happen in this case? Would the teacher just send two firsts and then the next person comes...
