    Harder Integration

    ii) Let u = ln x du.dx = 1/x therefore Int = du/u2 = u-2du = u-1/-1 du = -1/u + C = -1/lnx + C I think thats right but not 100%

    Harder Integration

    1) x = 2sin@ dx/d@ = 2Cos@ Int = (from 0 to pi/2) sqrt(4 -4sin2@) . 2Cos@ d@ = 2Cos@.2Cos@.d@ = 4 Int(from 0 to pi/2) Cos2@ d@ = 4 Int (from 0 to pi/2) [(1/2) + (1/2)Cos2@]d@ = 4[(1/2)@ + (1/4)sin2@]pi/20 = 4. pi/4 = pi

    einstein's contribution to quantum

Einstein contributed greatly to both quantum theory and black body radiation. Although Max Planck first discussed the idea of the radiation emitted by a black body being quantised, i.e. radiated in packets rather than continuous waves, it was Einstein's use of Planck's hypothesis to explain the...

    damn trig

    You just use the transformation to convert this into a function involving just sin or cos. In this case: 12cosx + 5sinx = 7 make this into RCos(x-@) R = sqrt(122 + 52) so R = 13 Hence 12cosx + 5sinx = 13Cos(x-@) = 13CosxCos@ + 13SinxSin@ to find @ just match up both sides, i.e...

    Differentiate

lol its lim x-> 0 not x->infinity. Youd be measuring the gradient of an infinite secant otherwise :p

    Commercial Radioisotopes

hehe this is the same as in chemistry advantages - can destroy bacteria in food through irradiation more completely than other processes - non-invasive, e.g. when your detecting structural faults in aeroplanes using americium-241 or cobalt-60 or some other isotope. It allows faults and...

even and odd functions and neither

Depends what you mean by 'average'. If you stick to 3 unit ur 2 unit maths skills will definitley increase. I used to think 3 unit was impossible but once u put in the effort especially in yr 12 it becomes a lot easier. On the other hand if u hate maths, then well it may be better to just do 2 unit.

    Impact of transistor on society

Im pretty sure this question will be asked in the hsc this year purely because its the only society question that hasnt been asked at all since the new hsc came in (to the best of my knowledge)...I will fix up the answer and get it 100% when i have time, if anyone wants to ad to it so that we...

    100% in 2u???

Thats unlikely because if they had an assessment mark of 99 and they got 100 in the hsc, then their assessment mark becomes 100 provided that they came first (it would be very unlikely that they didnt come first, but it can happen).

Is anyone doing anything at school

We aernt doing anything in school either, its boring as, its too hard to study at school as well, i cant wait till graduation day lol

    Inquiry - Important

what was the raw mark for a band E4 last year btw?
  13. rama_v

    100% in 2u???

It varies from year to year whether or not ppl get 100. In Jeff Gehas book it says that in 1993 the highest raw mark was only 110..so it really does depend on the difficulty of the exam. Having said that I think acmilan got 118(I think) and came third in the state last year, so he will probably...

    Projectile Motion calculations!

btw do we need to derive the range and maximum height formulas when using them in physics, like we need to do in 3 unit, or can we just state that range = V2sin2@/g etc. ?

    Impact of transistor on society

Heres a beast of an answer, its far too long and its probably crappy, but its a stab lol ----------------------- The invention of the transistor paved the way for the development of miniature electronic circuits and profoundly integrated circuits (IC). Devices could now be made that...

    Gal Pos-cat Neg-an!!!!!!!

It just means that oxidation occurs there. I think sometimes the anode can be oxidised in certain cases, depending on what its made of and its potential. Same goes with cathode

    Isotopes in Agriculture

Yeah I think that would count as a use...Tc-99m for medical use (cause we do the same thing for chem) is what we are doing in class.
