Haha well, being a language, it's not something you can cram. Make sure you do LOTS of practise: reading, writing, listening and speaking, as much as you possibly can. Vocab for continuers isn't as important because you have a dictionary, but knowing all your Kanji (and vocab) will help you go...
Shaun... Leung?
If it is, I HIGHLY recommend this guy. I've heard some of his compositions and was honestly amazed. I'm not saying this from a non-musical background as I completed AMEB 8th grade a few years ago.
But yeah, he's really tank at music and anyone that gets him as a music tutor...
If you can maintain your ranks with the amount of study you do, then by all means 13 units is fine.
I did 13 units and still got 99.90. Though throughout the year, I had thoughts of dropping Japanese Extension and Physics. I actually even stopping going to Japanese Extension classes for about 3...
lol
Yes 220 words in 5 mins is crazy...
They would finish 2 essays in like 1 hour, or just write LOTS for each essay o_o.
I remember one girl wrote like her 3 essays in 1.5 hours for the trial (for paper 2) and before the test I was asking how long each of her essays were, and they were crazy...
I think I read somewhere in the UWS website that they don't even consider your ATAR, and that it's just a "hurdle" to be overcome lol.
They say they consider your UMAT score only if you have an ATAR of 95+ (GWS 93+) which then counts 33.33333333333333333333....% :) of your score towards your...
I don't really understand what you mean by 'writing speed at 1.4 per hour' ?
But anyway, you should be aiming to have a writing speed of around 180words in 5 mins and that'll be good enough.
The fastest writers in my school could write about 220 in 5 mins, pretty hectic I must say. And you need...
For the last question, I've solved it before for someone else...
Here's the link.

Btw, good luck for your exam tomorrow ! :)
70/120 IS incredibly low.
You don't even need question 7/8 to get that.
I mean, as a good 4U student, you should be able to get 1-5 of a HSC paper, VERY easily, which in itself is 15*5 marks = 75 marks.
So say the cutoff for 90 was in fact definitely 70/120, it means, it's actually not that...
I thought you were only dealing with "... just the major Universities Sydney - ie. USYD, UNSW, Macq, UTS and UWS...perhaps also Newcastle)."
Second round interviews, as in the interviews they offer you once you receive your ATAR, around December 16.
The First round of interviews are given on...
Dude...
Med is by far so much harder to get into.
To be honest, getting into Combined Law doesn't seem too hard because all you need is the ATAR.
Anyone with hard work can get that high ATAR.
As for Med, you have Interview + UMAT.
If you screw up UMAT, then you're screwed and won't even be...
Aliens?
People that get 99.95 or 99.90?
I think people that 99.95 are aliens... or freaks of nature.
xP
Sadly, no I'm not Singaporean/Malaysian.
I'm Filipino :)
And how does "erm..." sound Singaporean/Malaysian LOL?
So, who here IS going to the MATH1141 Talented Student Tutorials?
Haha thats allright.
Since you have x as a fraction, x = a/b, 1/x just equals the reciprocal, which is b/a.
So if x = 3 - 2sqrt(2) / 3 + 2sqrt(2)
x + 1/x = [ (3 - 2sqrt2) / (3 + 2sqrt2) ] + [ (3 + 2sqrt2) / (3 - 2sqrt2) ]
= [(3-2sqrt2)^2 + (3 + 2sqrt2)^2 ] / [ (3 + 2sqrt2)(3 - 2sqrt2) ]
= [ 9...
This will become quite messy...
Are you sure the question wasn't
x = 3 - 2sqrt(3) / 3 + 2sqrt(3)
or x = 3 - 2sqrt(2) / 3 + 2sqrt(2)
But anyway, using the original x = 3 - 2sqrt(3) / 3 + 2sqrt(2)
x + 1/x = [(3 - 2sqrt3) / (3 + 2sqrt2)] + [(3+2sqrt2)/(3-2sqrt3)]
= [(3-2sqrt3)^2+(3+2sqrt2)^2] /...
Okay firstly, lets look at a similar example, or a more common type of question.
If pipe A can fill a tank in 3 hours and pipe B can fill the same tank in 4 hours, how long does it take for the two pipes working together to fill the tank.
Rate of pipe A = 1/3 of the total per hour
Rate of pipe...
With the product to sums and sums to products formulae, yeah it wouldn't hurt to memorise them especially for applications in Conics and possibly Complex and Polys.
But since they were part of the old course, its unlikely you'd be expected to need to be able to use them.
Being able to...
I see.
I worked it out using that sums to product formula, and it comes out the same.
The amount of working is around the same, but knowing to use sums to product in an exam... I would only advise it if you have used it alot and are confident with it and know trig ratios well.
For example, in...
Like secksmiiminh said, it's up to you.
To be honest, I think that that tutoring method is good if you are a good student and understand the theory at school well.
But 2 hours? of just going through questions? I think that ridiculous.
Maybe 1 hour, but not 2... Doesn't that get very long and...
