@OP - I'd say go with your guts and go to USyd.
It is mainly the skills and concepts that you have learnt that will be carried on eg essay/short answer writing skills. There are exceptions of course.

Kill all your subs, especially Drama and English. Swap to chem if you're really chem on doing vet science and want to be able to bludge the 1st year of uni.

After you finish your course, it's all about experience. The prestige factor *may* help with getting that...
