    flame test colours

I haven't really made notes yet as we just learnt it in class, but for ppt, I might just use the data sheet, and for complexation we haven't learnt that part, sorry

Completely forgot about the syllabus Thanks 👍

    flame test colours

I think there have been a few Qs in the past where there were no contextual clues given and needed to know flame colours in short-answers and MCQs: But yeah I get what you mean by focusing more on the application rather than memorising, thanks 👍

What are all the different cations flame test colours we need to memorise? (different textbooks and websites vary) Thanks!

functional group isomers (alcohols and ethers)

Functional group isomers though, so as long as same molecular formula and diff funct group doesn't matter right

functional group isomers (alcohols and ethers)

I've learned esters & carbo acids are funct group isomers, so are cycloalkanes & alkenes, ketones & aldehydes; and alcohols & ethers, but ethers isn't really in the syllabus range yet they do count as funct group isomers, so if there's a question on the no. of funct isomers of an alcohol...

    Math Advanced

I think the course is more enjoyable: calculus, trig etc. but standard is more about financial etc. You could always give advanced a go and drop if needed

    Confused about amides??

I haven't heard of the first post you sent, but for the BP Q: Amides can H-bond through C=O, C-N and 2 N-Hs Carboxylic acids can only on C=O, C-O and 1 O-H Hence amides have more sites for H-bonding

How does moles/conc change during titration between aliquots etc?

Your second paragraph understanding is seems all right, but yh the calc also stumps me I remember doing a question when working backwards you have to find the moles in your 20mL aliquot, times it by 250/20 (so 12.5) to get the moles in the 250mL, then you can do c = n/v (n being what you just...

    pH calc

Oh ok thanks, but can you say that the conc of hydroxide ions is in molar ratio to Ca(OH)2 though (since 0.0015 is initial conc., would you need to logically do RICE)
  15. I

    pH calc

Oh ok cheers, though doing it that way gives 12.76 and assumes Ca2+ conc is same as Ca(OH)2 I tried using RICE table but got relatively close to answer but not it

    pH calc

Answer is D How would you solve this question using calculations (of course just by looking at it it's D cause basic pH, but im curious about calc) Thanks

    Best note taking method

Yh important not to base all your study off notes, that's what I mostly did, until exam period arrived and study notes took too long to make so i just jumped to quickly scribbling some content stuff down to memorise it and focused on past papers

    am i stupid

I think it may have to do with the fact that cos-1 has a domain between 0 and pi (so only 1st and 2nd quad are you're options - and in this case it's 1st)
