I always found History of Maths to be interesting. I've been caught reading about how the ancients approximated pi from time to time...

If it's not immediately obvious what you're doing, I'd suggest writing it - for clarity as well, so when you check it you don't go "wtf did i do here". For instance, I was doing a tute problem and I had to divide both sides by rHR'' - and... yeah, very messy and not immediately obvious. So...

I think your 'cons' kind of assumes that ratio will stay constant year after year. If that's your only con, and nothing like "I really enjoy the work" - you might be better off dropping the subject...

There'll be maps and big letters on buildings. Plus, you can't have exams in most lecture halls. You can see other people's work.

Personally I don't think it's a help, you'd just find some other way to.. nah this guy said it right:

I remember my English lecture put mandatory attendance. The lecture was mostly full-ish for about a week, and then I think most people did the "soz, have work" excuse and got out of it. :p
