Usually you can't because HSC Mathematics is a 2 year course and you'd be jumping in 'half way' and you'd need to learn all that year 11 content which isn't Year 10 revision which is like... General Maths.

For popular courses, cut offs go up. So there are less and less offers as rounds progress. For extremely popular courses - the cut-offs may go straight to 99.95 or the course becomes full.
