Really? I found Prelim chem one of the most boring subjects in science I have EVER learnt. HSC chemistry was so much more interesting!

    Assumed Knowledge on Certain Courses

Just take a bridging course and work extra hard on your chemistry. Shouldn't take THAT long to catch up on the chemistry required for the course.

    Newcastle University

As being a novocastrian and from having a mum who has lectured at the uni, I've grown up in and around the uni. Newcastle has good design and engineering courses as well as many others. It's got a good social vibe and great environment, though you better bring some mozzie spray because sometimes...

NEW YEARS RESOLUTIONS (in terms of schooling)

That is definitely do-able. I dropped ballet because I was getting bored by it, but one of the girls who got 97+ managed to balance good grades in her classes and ballet exams with school. It IS possible! :P Just don't get stressed out learn to recognise what is more important. Eg. Don't go to a...

    All Rounders List

The highest ATAR at my school was around 98.7. Nowhere near 99.95 or ATAR's like that but over 80% of people in our year get uni offers. So, as a public school, we do exceptionally well compared to other schools. Eg. where my dad works. The entire cohort managed to pull 3 or 4 band 6's (This...

    University ATAR cut offs

Yes, because an ATAR of 97.75 is extremely disadvantage-able :P

What made you want to do your uni course?

Law/Science. 1. I've always been an excellent public speaker and looking for a verbal arguement about ANYTHING. 2. I've always had a natural curiousity and a knack for science (I could of done better in the HSC with more study :P). Probably get it from having one parent having majored in...

    Best Law Course?

Despite having a lower ATAR cut-off, law at the University of Newcastle is highly praised due to it having a very involved practical side to it :) People who have gone from Newcastle to Sydney/NSW's law courses have said that it isn't worth the transfer. GOD, I sound like an infomercial haha ^^

All rounder award ...What is it?????

*facepalm* The All Rounder award means that someone has achieved a band 6 for 10 units of subjects in the HSC. That is all.

Will ranks change much after the first assessment?

I was ranked 44/48 after the first assesment for Bio. I ended up coming 4th and an exam mark of 94. Don't think just because your rank after the first assesment is "bad", it's going to stay that way. Make sure you do well throughout the year and you will get the assesment mark you deserve in the...

A lot of the time Biomed can lead you into careers involving important medical research such as a cure for cancer, malaria etc or some people go into research and invention such as manually grown organs and such. BTW Aquawhite, did you change your mind towards biomed? I just have a memory you...
