well the long distance running event i do requires me to wear/carry 2 pairs of thermal underwear/skins. Hence the thought of replacing one of those pairs with skins.

i bring a clipboard and loose-leaf paper to lectures, then i have 4 large binders at home. Why carry around junk you won't need to refer back to?

Re: How helpful is a laptop at university? Yes, its uni - you can do what you like I wouldn't worry about it now then I used a laptop for homework, assessments, and tutes. Using the laptop in lectures was a distraction and i usually ran out of battery. So i used paper. Well wait 2 years...

i think you're right. BIGW has no minimum quantity so its probably the best. Unless you are doing over 100 i wouldn't look further than going physically into a bigW store.

i've seen both, depends what resources you have. I would use a cheap sheet and go from there. But if you dont have one, go to spotlight/lincraft. Because i'm really tall, im cutting a big sheet in half, and sewing it making it extra long. Last time i didn't, i made a skank toga lol
