So i want to get a good atar, but so far i fkd up. If i improve now can it change?

Re: So i want to get a good atar, but so far i fkd up. If i improve now can it change Depends on their ATAR goals. Someone aiming for 99.95 realistically can't stuff up anything (maybe get the occasional not so perfect mark but you can't bomb it). Alternatively, if you are going for 80, you...

Is band 6 in 2U maths still attainable?

Anything is possible. Theoretically she could get 1st in the state if the rest of her year bombs out and she ranks first internally and then gets 100% externally. What you're looking for is for someone to tell you that she can do it so you don't feel like you're giving her false home- yes its...

    Max/min Problem

Allright, I'll have a go after dinner :)

Is band 6 in 2U maths still attainable?

Looking at her previous assessment marks, it will be pretty hard to suddenly improve to this mark range. I'm not saying its impossible (I don't know her), but from a realistic point of view, if you're a 90%+ candidate, without study you should be hitting more than 56%...

    How to increase appetite?

Run? I know that when I run a lot I can eat anything. Its not just that day as well. If I have a few weeks of solid training, I can easily eat 10 Weetbix for breakfast...

    Economics

With economics, if you think logically, its pretty simple. For example, instead of remembering all the factors that cause an increase in demand, think that if you were a consumer, what would cause you to increase your demand. In this case, lower prices is an obvious result. You can apply this...

    Max/min Problem

I haven't had a go at the problem but from a 2 second glance, try using distance=speedxtime. Let me know if that works. If it doesn't, I'll try and do the whole problem for you :)

Is the BOS only interested in your rank from assessments in school?

No. They also look at the relative spacing between marks and then moderate those as well. As an example, if you came second by 1% in a cohort of 100 people, you would get a very similar assessment mark to the person who came first. By contrast, if you came second by 10%, you would get a...

How do you rate your school?

I don't think we'll do as well. We have a stronger top end than their top end but I think on average we are worse...

    Chord of Contact Formula Proof

Its an elegant proof. What you need to be careful of is confusing fixed point (x1,y1) etc. with the general points (x,y)

Can eating healthy make you super smart?

Just a personal story- In Year's 7/8, I was probably around top 30 in our year (this is at a selective school). In Year 9, I started eating healthier and exercising a lot more (i.e. I now run about 4 times a week). Since then, in Year 9+10 I came 2nd overall and then I came first in Year 11...

    study this last week

Do you mean 10-12 hours for the week or a day. If a week- go for it. If a day- don't do it. You'll learn a lot more by structuring your time effectively and allowing your brain to rest. Do say 2-3 hours in the morning, then go out or exercise or something and then do some more at night. Also...

Homework for the sake of homework?

Same with most of the above. Our teachers don't care if we do the homework or not. Going off Carrot's post, I'd also do random questions that I knew I could do if they looked interesting (for example proving random theorems in the extension section of Cambridge).

    Economics

They're two totally different subjects. Having said that, if you did well in commerce, your mind probably thinks in the right way for economics as well. I did really well in Commerce and I'm doing really well now so maybe there is some correlation but I know some of my friends also did well in...

    Economics

It depends. Are you interested in economics. I really enjoy the subject and I've grown up reading the papers and knowing what's going on in the economy so I find it really easy. Other people in my year find it hard because they don't like it and find that there's too much content to remember...
