Our school is ranked around the 20's but we generally do really well in maths and english drags us down...

100 in 3U isn't neccessarily full marks. One of my friends this year ranked third at school (internal of 99) and got 83/84 external (100 external) which gave him 100 HSC mark.

Sorry, I should have made my point clearer. What I was saying is that if both schools got the exact same performance externally and they both performed the same externally, the guy ranked 2nd would do better in spite of the fact that he got a lower internal mark.
