    Multiple Choice question!

For the first one, it depends on how QANTAS expanded its market share (i.e. if they increased the number of Australian's they transported overseas or if they increased their services from other countries to Australia). If for example, they increased the number of foreigners that they...

    Multiple Choice question!

GST is regressive. The definition of a regressive tax is one that the more you earn, the less tax you pay as a proportion of your income. As lower income earners consumer more of their income, they are affected more by GST and hence pay more GST as a component of their income. This is contrasted...

    Simplify

Did it :). These questions always piss me off though because they start of so complicated and you end up with a stupidly simple answer (on the plus side you know if you're right).

    Solving trig equations

I think you solved it incorrectly. I just did it quickly (sorry, don't have time to post full working), and I got (5cosx-1)(4+3/sinx)=0 which gives the two answers above. I think you might have made a mistake when you had the sinx on the denominator and multiplied through by sinx and then made...

Sorry, how does implicit make this question easier? You already have everything in terms of y so just use the product+chain rule...

    When considering state ranks.

Your final assessment mark after it has been fully moderated and everything. Essentially, they're comparing final HSC marks, however to more accuracy that what it is reported to to students.

    When considering state ranks.

They look at external marks + internal marks first (each to 1 decimal place). If there is still a tie, for example if two people both rank first at their respective schools + get full marks, they give both equal ranks. However for extension subjects such as 3U maths, they then look at your...

    How do you study maths?

As long as you need to understand everything properly. For example, last year in 3U, when we did polynomials and calculus, I would often do nothing because I found it really easy. On the other hand, when we did circle geo, I did heaps of questions so that I could become good at it.

HALF YEALIES HOW ARE THEY GOING?

Got 51/52 in 4U maths (should be first), 26.5/30 in Chem (I think I dropped down to second or third)

    differentiate

    Interesting phrasing...

    differentiate

Also for 4U students who can implicitly differentiate, this also comes in handy for a few types of questions: <img src="http://latex.codecogs.com/gif.latex?y=a^x\\ lny=xlna\\ (\frac{1}{y})(\frac{dy}{dx})=lna\\ \frac{dy}{dx}=(y)lna\\ \frac{dy}{dx}=(a^x)lna" title="y=a^x\\ lny=xlna\\...
